Shannopin Iris

Painting flowers came late in time in my work. Tentatively at first I used small bits of flowers around buildings in gardens. Along the way, then, I began to look at single flowers and the beautiful shapes and colors. First it was roses in our gardens, then peonies, irises and many others. It’s about wonderful shapes and lines, and above all, amazing color.

Prints are 85-95% of original size, except where noted otherwise.
