Peony Blossom

There is something appealing to me in a Georgia O'Keefe kind of way to paint a flower much larger than it actually is. And if it is a light colored flower, as this is, with creamy pinks, it is intriguing to simplify the background in a very dark statement to make the flower emerge toward the viewer.
