Flower Shop, Nantucket (2018)

When I saw this scene for the first time, it took my breath. It is tucked back off the street which creates a setting that changes every day with the items that the florist most wants to feature. Each days is more beautiful and exciting to see. I have painted this scene many, many times...each one different. The umbrella is an important feature, as are the steps, the brick walkway, and the elements of the building. In the category of floral scenes, it is probably my most favorite to paint. Completed 1993.
