Dam #5, C&O Canal

Just browsing in some volume of Hagerstown history I happened upon photographs of the canal. Having painted so many other things in the county, I wondered what it would be like to turn the old brown photo into a painting. It is rough, old and dark, but I enjoyed trying to achieve something with it. Maybe it was the two little people in the scene just waiting for me to paint a picture of them. Who knows?
